Aetna USA Underwriting Graduate Program
Underwriters are the “hub” of our business. They determine accurate and acceptable
rates and fees. And they provide valuable, ongoing financial case management for our
corporate customers.

As an Aetna underwriter, you’ll assess financial risk on a case-level basis. You’ll negotiate with our field staff and customers to implement rates and fees that work for everyone. That includes marrying our profitability goals with our customers’ needs in a way that helps us retain and build membership. You’ll also deliver high-quality products, like financial accounting packages, proposal information, claims projections, funding evaluations, and group health plan and renewal packages.

What’s required
We can offer you a variety of underwriting opportunities, most of which require:
• B.S./B.A degree or equivalent work experience in business administration, mathematics, economics, finance or a related field
• Strong communication abilities
• Critical thinking, analytical and decision-making skills
Familiarity with managed care products and services (preferred)
